My favorite tradition is probably decorating the Christmas tree. It's hard to pick one, though.
Opening presents! We do it round robin style and with stocking stuffers and dinner its take all day. Its not the presents but the talking laughter and time with the family.

Oh, what a fabulous giveaway! I am doing a handcrafted Christmas this year. We decorate the outside patio with as many lights and decorations as we can squeeze in, and we carefully decorate our inside Christmas tree -- takes two or three days to complete it!

I love the tree decorating but my family always only open one present in the morning and save the rest until after lunch - I always loved that. We concentrate on family and being together rather than a whole day of presents! We also take turns opening and passing them from under the tree was me and my sister's favourite job!

I enjoy Christmas Eve we go to church watch 'White Christmas' and have snacks.
I love taking my two boys (separately) to the store so they can pick out a gift for their brother. They get so excited buying something that they think their brother will love. I wish I could bottle that excitement and use a little all year long!! Merry Christmas!

My favourite tradition is taking my girls and picking out the new ornaments for the year. We each pick one out. I'm a glass ornament kind of girl, something in red and rich looking with sparkles. As the girls have grown over the years their tastes have changed. Spongebob still lives on the tree but they are now looking towards Santa and sparkles. Can't wait for this year's pick!

One of my favourite traditions is that every Monday night in December we all sit down together and watch a Christmas film and have treats. My favorite tradition is putting some Christmas music on and decorating the tree.
You know, we don't seem to have a lot of holiday traditions... I've been trying to think of one, and coming up blank! Well,.. when I was a little kid, we lived close to both sets of grandparents, so we'd do Christmas Eve with my dad's family and then drive to my mom's family's house, stay the night, and then do Christmas day there. Somehow my sister and I convinced our mom that really we should have an At Home, Family Only Christmas as well, so on Christmas eve we always got to open one gift before going along to the two-day gluttony with the rest of the family.
Now that we're all grown up, we've still maintained that tradition, just slightly changed. We open stockings on Christmas Eve, now, and then proper gifts on Christmas day. My sister and I have started making stockings for our parents too, so that they get something special and small and silly as well.

Hello from Minnesota! I'm a big fan of the advent calendar. My husband and I split the odd and even days and so we get lots of little surprises from each other all through December.

My whole extended family has a tradition we call "the box" in which the last person to receive "the box" buys an ornament and writes a poem for another family member. All thenm poems (one for each year since 1983) are stored in "the box" (which is an old box from a department store that doesn't even exist anymore). When are boys were little my husband and I would take turns taking them shopping so they could pick out presents for everyone. They were always so proud of their special finds. Now on New Years Eve we play board games all day and toast the New Year when the ball drops. Thank you!
