Saturday we had the weirdest storm move through here. It seemed like all of a sudden rain started coming down in sheets- huge sheets that moved through in waves. Plus huge (for us) hail, lightning and strong winds. The weird part was that it could not have lasted more than 5 to 10 minutes. And in that small amount of time the power was knocked out to 38,000 people. Sadly it took about 28 hours to get the power back on and ,because of false reports of it coming on sooner, I left the fridge closed and hoped for the best. Last night I had to clean it all out except a little bit of unopened cheese. I spose it is nice to have a clean fridge but to lose all tht food was frustrating. I will say that power losses in the spring are so much better than the winter ice storm ones because we were warm and could drive places if we needed.
